Casement windows are hinged at the top and open outward and are usually wider than tall with the entire window opening to provide side-to-side ventilation. Stale air from within the building escapes through the large opening at the top, allowing for excellent ventilation.

TILT AND TURN WINDOWS

Tilt and turn windows allow the sash to tilt inward at the top which provides ventilation whilst maintaining security. The window can also be opened by swinging inwardly when the controlling lever is in the turn position, activating the mechanism within the frame.
