ABOUT ASAP GLASS

ASAP uses only the highest quality safety glass which carries a 20 year guarantee against manufacturing defects.

Our product offers guaranteed safety as well as the following additional benefits:

• protection against harmful UV rays
• substantial noise reduction
• added security

 DOUBLE GLAZING

Double Glazing is a manufacturing process of windows where the complete window structure is formed by two panes of glass with a space of several millimetres in thickness separates the two panes. Air becomes trapped between the two panes and an insulating layer (vacuum) is formed. In order to ensure that there is no moisture present between the panes, a drying agent is added before the unit is finally sealed.

Double Glazing is an innovative method incorporated in the manufacturing process of our doors and windows in order to improve the energy efficiency of the homes and building in which they are used. Although double glazing is a more expensive option when compared to standard single pane windows, the cost is quickly recovered through reduced heating and cooling bills.

Double glazing is also effective in controlling and reducing the noise factor and is an environmental aid through the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from homes.

 LAMINATED CLEAR GLASS

PERFORMANCE VARIATIONS
Our laminated glass is available in two performance variations:
• Normal Strength (NS) for human impact safety (0.38mm PVB interlayer); Sans 1263 Part 1.
• High Penetration Resistant (HPR) for additional security (0.76mm PVB interlayer).

 TOUGHENED GLASS

ASAP uses only the highest quality safety glass which has excellent resistence to thermal stress and can be used in extreme high and low temperatures. This makes it the perfect glass for the constantly fluctuating South African climate. Our glass strictly adheres the safety glass requirements of the South African National Building regulations.

Available Colours: clear, grey, bronze, green

Sizes and Thickness:
Our glass thickness is 4mm. The maximum parameters of a sheet of glass that can be processed is 4000 x 2440 mm. This is dependent on the thickness of the glass, application, raw glass sheet size available and glazing regulations. Different maximum sizes apply to various colours, thickness and patterns.

Recommended maximum size will depend on application and design load.

Laminated Toughened Glass
Our laminated glass is a product which combines the strength and safety of our toughened glass with the advantages of safety, sound control and solar control with our laminated safety glass. Our toughened laminated glass is manufactured by bonding polyvinyl butyral (PVB} interlayers between two pieces of toughened safety glass. This product is available in various thicknesses and colours. The maximum parameters of a piece of toughened laminated glass that can be manufactured is 3600 x 2000 mm, but this is dependent on thickness of glass, application, raw glass sheet size availability and glazing regulations. Please contact us for more information.

MONOLITHIC ANNEALED

CLEAR FLOAT GLASS
We supply every thickness of clear float glass as well as Grey and Bronze tinted product in all forms. Float glass is a sheet of glass made by floating molten glass on a bed of molten metal, typically tin, although lead and various low melting point alloys were used in the past. This method gives the sheet uniform thickness and very flat surfaces. It is available in Clear and Bronze, Grey and Green tinted options.

TINTED FLOAT GLASS
We supply Grey and Bronze tinted products.

LOW E GLASS
Low Emissivity (Low E) coated monolithic glass offers superior thermal insulation in standard
frames designed for single glazing.
• Low E maximises light transmission
• Solar E controls solar heat radiation and glare
• SABS approved

OBSCURE GLASS
Obscure patterned glass obscures a view without noticeable loss of natural or artificial light.
• Privacy without loss of light
• Functionality with a decorative effect
• Complements the aesthetic environment

MIRROR
ASAP offers copper-backed mirror which are in line with global best practices.
• Thicker layers of silver and copper to improve the reflectivity
• Three layers of special paint to provide protection against the elements
